The CHIA Journal is the official journal of the California Health Information Association.
The aim of the journal is to inform the CHIA membership of activities of the Association and to educate the readers in matters pertaining to health record administration and technology. It is a forum for open and responsible discussion; in agreement with this concept, all materials presented may not reflect the official policy of the CHIA or the institution with which the author is affiliated unless otherwise specified.
Writing for CHIA Journal
Unsolicited manuscripts, illustrations and graphics are accepted for publication consideration. The article shall be sent to CHIA Coordinating Editor (Articles@CaliforniaHIA.org ) with a suggested column and/or headline. The author shall state their name, and may use their position title and employer affiliation if not writing in a CHIA appointee role, credentials shall be used.
The CHIA Journal is a peer-reviewed journal.

Need CEUs
Two CEU credits can be earned by having an article published in the CHIA Journal.
Publication Deadline
Materials are to be received by the 1st of the month, or appropriate date for combined month issues (June/July and December/January) which is six weeks preceding the month of proposed publication. Format

Photographs and Exhibits
Photographs by authors are encouraged. Photographs shall be at least 2 x 4 inches. Black and white halftone photographs preferred and the computer picture can be submitted via e-mail (Articles@CaliforniaHIA.org), 300 dpi tif or eps format. The original, rather than a reproduced copy, shall be submitted for all exhibits. Exhibits,illustrations or graphs.
