Colleague: The Colleague category is for those individuals who would like to receive mailings, including the CHIA Journal (10 issues yearly). This category will provide a discount on education offerings and publications to colleagues. In addition, the Colleague can serve without voting privileges on local and state level committees. This is not available to those individuals that hold an AHIMA credential who are California residents. Those credentialed outside of California are eligible. To those that do not hold a credential, do you know about the AHIMA Associate Member category that provides additional benefits? For more information visit http://www.ahima.org/membership/

Component Local Associations (CLAs)

There are seven CLAs in California. To select the CLA in which you live or work, visit the CLA map. These Associations provide members with local access and representation and serve as an important forum for communicating issues and keeping members informed of issues that affect Health Information Management. The boundaries follow the natural county boundary lines wherever possible. At time of membership payment, the members can declare membership in one CLA.
