Continuing Education
This program has been approved for continuing education units (CEUs) for use in fulfilling the continuing education requirements of AHIMA’s Commission on Certification for Health Informatics and Information Management (CCHIIM). American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC): AHIMA CEUs are accepted from programs sponsored by AHIMA national offices and the state AHIMA branches hour for hour. California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN): Provider approved; provider number 05474 for contact hours.

Calculation of CEUs is based upon clock hours. One CEU is given for each hour of attendance or participation in a approved session. Fractional parts of an hour less than 45 minutes in duration will not be considered a full hour credit. HIIM Domains vary depending on the session and are noted on the CEU form. For full details on CEU qualifications, calculations, and more, view the AHIMA Recertification Guide, Fall 2016.

The CEU form is included in the attendee bag. Registrants should utilize the form onsite and mark sessions attended.

Presentation Materials
As part of CHIA’s “green” initiative, presentation materials are distributed electronically; printed materials are not made available, with the exception of pre-convention tutorials. Presentation materials for the concurrent sessions will be posted on the CHIA website by May 26, 2017. Please download and print materials for the sessions that you plan to attend. An email will be sent to all registrants providing the presentation material link. Attendees may download materials until July 15, 2017.

Program Changes
Presenter and topic lineups are subject to change without notice. Check the CHIA website for the current schedule.

Recording and/or videotaping educational sessions by attendees is prohibited.

Conference Attire
In June the weather may be warm during the daytime, cooler in the evenings. A light jacket may be needed. Due to variation in room temperature, we suggest you wear layered clothing during educational sessions to ensure your comfort.

CHIA is an affiliate of the American Health Information Management Association and has provided educational programs for members and other allied health professionals for over 65 years. For a full list of convention sponsors, visit
