CHIA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was first established in 1949. As the representative leadership in the field of HI, we ensure the personal and professional growth of our members while advancing the health information community’s impact through relevant
education, commitment to advocacy for legislation that affects California’s health information landscape, including patient privacy and rights to health information.
Membership defines its value and dedication to practice excellence through LEAD – leadership, education, advocacy and discovery, providing a platform for members to discover new and innovative HI pathways, networks and
partnerships that make a difference. CHIA’s regions called Component Local Associations (CLAs) provide networking and LEAD opportunities to members at a regional level.
