Meeting & Event Policies and FAQsFor access to the live webinar program, refer to the Zoom communication email sent to you on the date of purchase. The email includes the ability to add the reminder to your personal calendar and the link to join the program. For eLearning Program access refer to your confirmation email. Most live eLearning Programs will be accessed through your CHIA profile from the my learning tab then selecting Live eLearning Programs. For access to the on-demand program, you must sign in to connect to MyFreestone, CHIA's new learning management system. Please allow up to three (3) business days after the live program for availability in the learning management system (LMS). Once logged in to your CHIA’s profile hover over "My Learning" then select "On Demand Content" in the top menu bar to access CHIA's Learning Management System. To allow the Learning Management System access to your CHIA profile select "Submit" Once in the Learning Management System scroll down to the "ON-DEMAND PROGRAMS" section. There you will find all unexpired on-demand purchases. Presentation MaterialsPresentation materials, if offered by the presenter, will be made available upon conclusion of the live program. All program materials will now be found through your CHIA Profile. Presentation Materials will be posted in the Learning Management System upon the conclusion of the live presentation. Remember to sign in to access the program materials. Hover over "My Learning" then select "On Demand Content" in the top menu bar to access CHIA's Learning Management System. "Quick Links" then select "Access On Demand Content" in the top menu bar to access CHIA's Learning Management System. Access CEU FormAccessing the CEU will differ depending on if you viewed the content live via Zoom or on-demand via CHIA’s Learning Management System. If you missed the live presentation be sure to watch the on-demand presentation and earn the CEU at the end of the program. CEUs earned from on-Demand education are available via CHIA’s Learning Management System only. I watched the program live via Zoom and need my CEU I missed the live program. Where do I watch the on-demand content to earn my CEU? Once logged in to your CHIA’s profile hover over "My Learning" and select "On Demand Content" from the top menu bar to access CHIA's Learning Management System. To allow the Learning Management System access to your CHIA profile select "Submit" Once in the Learning Management System scroll down to the "ON-DEMAND PROGRAMS" section. There you will find all unexpired on-demand purchases. CHIA programs are approved for continuing education units (CEUs) for use in fulfilling the continuing education requirements of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). CEUs are based on contact hours. 30 minutes of attendance at an educational program equals .5 CEU. For full details on CEU qualifications, calculations, and more, view the AHIMA Recertification Website. CEUs may be adjusted based on the actual time of the event. CHIA uses Zoom to host live virtual programs. To participate, you will need a computer with an internet connection and the Zoom software. Zoom support offers information regarding
system compatibility here. The California Health Information Association’s (CHIA) top priority for all in-person events is the safety and welfare of all participants. The CHIA Board has provided specific recommendations to inform and direct participants who attend CHIA’s in-person events regarding what specific considerations are being undertaken to ensure attendee safety. CHIA’s event policy is based on facility, county, state and/or federal guidelines. CHIA will follow the strictest guidelines (such as masking) established by the facility hosting the event, the county department of public health in which the event is located, and the state. Participants will be required to agree to an “Acknowledgement, Personal Responsibility and Assumption of Risk” statement when registering for any CHIA and/or Component Local Association (CLA) in-person event. Acknowledgement, Personal Responsibility and Assumption of Risk statementBy attending a California Health Information Association (CHIA) or Component Local Association (CLA) in-person event (the Event), you voluntarily assume all risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury related to exposure to COVID-19, and release CHIA/CLA from liability for any injury or harm that may result by attending the Event. The CHIA/CLA’s goal is to ensure a safe meeting environment. CHIA will also follow the strictest guidance (such as masking) established by the facility hosting the event, the county department of public health in which the event is located and the state. As such, you also agree to abide by any prevention or safety measures that CHIA/CLA, the venue, the county health department, or the State of California may have in place during the Event. You also agree not to attend the Event if you become ill, are aware that you’ve been directly exposed to the COVID-19 virus within seven (7) days prior to the Event or exhibit any symptoms of the COVID-19 virus prior to or during the Event. We expect to review this policy in the future and may make changes as circumstances dictate or allow. No-ShowsIf you do not submit a written cancellation request within the eligible timeframe, and/or do not attend the event, full registration payment is required and non-refundable. Virtual CHIACON/eLearning Programs/Webinars/On DemandThese programs are not eligible for refunds. Live webinar cancellation requests will be provided webinar-on-demand access for the same event, once the on demand product becomes available. In-Person Seminars/Workshops/SymposiumsCancellations must be received in writing, at least seven (7) days prior to event to be eligible for a partial refund, less the appropriate cancellation fee. Cancellations received within seven days of the event are not eligible for a refund. In-Person Convention/Pre-Convention TutorialsCancellations must be received in writing, on or before the published advance registration date to be eligible for a partial refund, less the appropriate cancellation fee. Cancellations received after the advance registration date are not eligible for a refund. In-person Cancellation Fees:
Registrants unable to attend an in-person live event may send a substitute. The appropriate member or non-member fee will apply to the substitute, and any rate difference must be paid in full at the time of request. Substitutions may also be completed on-site.
