Healthcare Board Member, Educator, Executive and Advisor - HI, Coding, CDI and Revenue Integrity Innovation

Cassi was recently appointed to the Advisory Board of Maverick Medical A, adding to her extensive board experience. She recently served as Administrative Director of Hospital and Professional Coding at Stanford Health System (2022–2024), overseeing strategic coding operations across hospitals, ambulatory services and physician practices. Previously, she led HIM, coding and CDI transformations at PeaceHealth and directed HIM/revenue integrity at UC San Diego Health including professional and facility coding. Her leadership roles also include senior positions at Peak Health Solutions, Rady Children’s Hospital and Scripps Health.

Cassi has been a Board Member of the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) since 2019, serving as Past-Board Chair. In 2023, she joined the University of San Diego’s Health Informatics Advisory Board. She also served on the San Diego Health Connect Board (2010–2022) and has been an adjunct faculty member at San Diego Mesa College since 1990.

As Past Board Chair/President of AHIMA (2014–2016), Cassi led initiatives including the ICD-10 transition, Information Governance and Global Curriculum adoption. She previously served as an AHIMA Director (2009–2012) and was honored with the 2019 AHIMA Distinguished Member Award and the 2017 Distinguished Health Professions Alumna Award from the University of Kansas Medical Center.

She accepted 3M Healthcare’s Professional Fee Coding Award for PeaceHealth and 3M’s 2018 Innovator of the Year Award at UCSD for achievements in Professional Fee and Single Path Coding. A Past President of the California Health Information Association (2006–2008), she received its Distinguished Member Award in 2009 .
