IPPS: MS-DRG Updates

Join us for an in-depth overview of the IPPS FY2026 changes, covering crucial updates and strategies for HI, Coding, CDI and Revenue Cycle professionals. Key topics include MS-DRG changes, including "new" MS-DRG: Table 5 review, understanding the latest updates to CCs and MCCs, along with other important and noteworthy IPPS changes, including new technology impact on MS-DRGs. Ms. Andersen is both an independent health information consultant and manager of coding education and training at Children’s Hospital of Orange County. Prior to her current roles, Nancy was the Director of Risk Adjustment Coding, Revenue Management Compliance, for Kaiser Permanente Ethics and Compliance Program. She holds a Master of Science in Health Information Management as well as a RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator), and Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), with over 40 years of experience in Health Information (HI).
Ms. Andersen is a prior member of the American Health Information Association (AHIMA) board of directors. She has also served as a volunteer leader at the state and local level, including President of the California Health Information Association (CHIA), Director on the Board of Directors for CHIA, and as past Chair of numerous CHIA committees.

Consultant

Ms. Bryant is a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) with 40 years of Revenue Cycle experience. She is certified by the American Health Information Management Association as a Clinical Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP), a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), and is also certified by the Association for Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists (ACDIS) as a Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS). She is proficient in ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and was an instructor for 9 years. Ms. Bryant has extensive experience in clinical coding, auditing, billing compliance and reimbursement. This experience includes Clinical Documentation Assessments, Query Development, MS-DRG , Rehabilitation Coding and ED Coding Audits, Provider Documentation Training and Peer-to-Peer Coding Education.

Dianna is an HI professional with over 25 years of experience. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati and holds RHIA, CHPS, CDIP and CCS certifications from AHIMA, along with being an AHIMA-approved ICD-10-CM/PCS trainer.
Dianna has held many positions in HI and is now an independent coding consultant. She previously served as the program director for Medical Coding and HIT at Eastern Gateway Community College. Dianna is an AHIMA-published author and has volunteered with AHIMA on projects including certification item writing, certification exam development, coding rapid design and most recently has served on AHIMA’s nominating committee. She is a presenter on coding topics at the national, state and regional levels, along with serving as OHIMA’s Education Coordinator. Dianna mentors new AHIMA members and also provides monthly educational lectures to coders and clinical documentation specialists.

How to Access Live eLearning Program For advanced purchases received one (1) business day prior to event date, access will be made available the morning of the live program.

Live Program access and materials will be accessible exclusively via the registrant’s  CHIA User Profile. Registrants will be given access to an eLearning Program Access Group page (restricted access) that will include the LIVE event link and program evaluation.

How to Access Program Materials If handouts were provided by the speaker they can be found in CHIA’s Learning Management System .
How to Access On-demand Program Recording (included) All eLearning Programs include on-demand access of the live program recording to stream. Allow up to three (3) business days after the live program for availability in CHIA’s Learning Management System .

2. Once logged in, you should automatically be directed to your dashboard. If not, click on the "My Dashboard" link at the top of CHIA's homepage.

    

3. Hover over "My Learning" and select "Live eLearning Programs" from the top menu bar.

  

4.  Select the appropriate eLearning Program, once on the program group page, you will find all the program access information.

2. Once logged in, you should automatically be directed to your profile. If not, click on the "My Profile" link at the top of CHIA's homepage.

4. To allow the Learning Management System access to your CHIA profile select "Submit"
