Seeking New Leaders to Ignite the Future of CHIA | NEW three-year term for CHIA Directors and President-elect, and two-year term for CHIA Delegates to AHIMA | CHIA Ballot Nominations will be accepted through Monday, October 21, 2024.

CHIA seeks qualified and experienced professional members for elected leadership positions for the new terms and expanded BOD (9). Ignite the Future of CHIA, influence Association policy in the early stages, and network with CHIA members and the HI community in meaningful ways that make a difference. Bylaw Changes Discussed and Evaluated at CHIA’s September Community Chat

Nancy J. Andersen, AHIMA Board of Director, and Freida Smith, CHIA Board Member, facilitated a presentation and discussion during a recent CHIA Community Chat that focused on the AHIMA Bylaws proposal in advance of the AHIMA House of Delegates meeting. The CHIA delegates to AHIMA want to hear from you to be sure CHIA is fully represented during the October 27, 2024, HOD in Salt Lake City, UT.

Component Group Task Force LEADing the Way in Igniting the Future of CHIA 

The Component Group Task Force met for the first time last month to begin imagining a framework to guide CHIA members in establishing future Component Groups (CG). Sub-committees were tasked with designing the five key areas that will define CG success measures.

CHIA Takes Firm Position on Title 22 at State Level 

Recommendations Sent to Center for Health Care Quality (CHCQ) Regulation

At the suggestion of CHIA’s Legislative & Advocacy committee and Board of Directors, a formal letter was submitted as public comment to the All Facilities letter (AFL) 24-19 proposed revisions to Title 22 CCR for the GACHs’ Clinical Laboratory and Dietetic Services, specifically Section 70263 Pharmacy Service General Requirements, regarding the authentication requirement for verbal and telephone orders within 48 hours.

Plans to Spark New Membership Pave the Way to Igniting the Future of CHIA

CHIA volunteer workgroups are the foundation that supports growth, development and affects change for the health information community of California. The Membership Recruitment & Retention Committee (MRR) is working diligently to meet its success measures that will yield a 10% increase in membership year after year. In addition to Connie Renda, President’s “Recruit 2” all-member challenge, this strategic leadership group plans to roll out an expanded campaign that will create renewed interest to bolster retention and unique programs that focus on the member value proposition of LEADLeadership, Education, Advocacy and Discovery. 

Watch for updated content on CaliforniaHIA.org to include member testimonials and videos, inspired programs and all the relevant HI industry trends and best practices that only CHIA can deliver.
