Interim Executive Director Job Posting

Dear California Health Information Community,

To ensure that CHIA continues to meet members’ needs, the CHIA Board of Directors has decided to engage an Interim Executive Director for a period of up to twelve months. The employee and/or contracted position will be part-time (averaging fewer than 30 hours per week) and will conclude upon the hiring and orientation (length to be determined) of the permanent Executive Director.  Candidate Minimum Requirements:

  • Hold an active RHIA or RHIT Credential
  • Overall knowledge of Component Association activities and functions, strategic initiatives, mission and vision, preferred.
  • Prefer previous experience as a Component Association Board Member, past or current Committee/Task Force leader, or other association leadership volunteer activity
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in senior-level leadership positions in health information management, including general supervision/management experience
  • Experience in fiscal management, staff supervision and program administration, such as education development, planning meetings and events, revenue-generating initiatives, member services, growth and retention, along with addressing members' needs
  • General knowledge of non-profit association operations and responsibilities a plus
